Familias Unidas, (en espanol) the first and only Latino-based center in Snohomish County. Focuses on the Hispanic community that lives in the area and provide a great variety of services such as:
Document translation
Services of Notary
Job Search
Resumes
Help filling out applications and other types of documentation
Also offers programs of education for adults, young people and children such as: ESL (English as a Second Language), classes for parents with daycare provided, Citizenship classes, playgroups in Everett and Monroe (forvchildren newborn to 5 years old), and more.
The resources offered range from information and referral to household items and emergency groceries.
Casa Latina, based in Seattle, also offers support to Latino immigrants.
Cocoon House in Everett, has a spanish parenting workshop: ¡Si Hay Salida!, a 13 hour seminar for Spanish speaking parents and their teens, fashioned after the best practice WayOut seminar.
Native American Resources
Northwest Indian College has locations throughout the state and at the Nez Perce reservation in Idaho. The sites offer a mix of face to face classes and distance learning courses, making it possible for you to complete your Northwest Indian College degree without coming to the main Lummi campus.
