Housing Services in and around Snohomish County
Cocoon HouseCocoon House is the only organization in Snohomish County that focuses specifically on helping the growing number of homeless and at-risk teens. Prevention services keep families intact and teens from leaving or being asked to leave the home. Street outreach efforts and a teen resource drop-in center provides critical survival supplies (food, socks, gloves, hats, clothing, hygiene and first aid kits) and referrals for needed professional services (counseling, treatment) to youth generally living on the streets. Residential services provide a safe and stable, service-rich environment in which youth establish plans to improve their lives.
Cocoon house serves youth between the ages of 13 and 21 who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They provide emergency services and long-term housing options. New Ground Transitional HousingNew Ground Everett (NGE) in Everett, Washington houses 12 single young adults. Residents are between the ages of 18 and 21 when they enter the program. Our staff offers supportive case management services that help residents set goals, complete their GED, high school, or enter college courses, obtain employment, secure childcare, apply for health care and benefits, and much more on an as-needed basis. The program also offers employment specialist services for unemployed residents or those looking for alternative employment. Life skills training, independent living skills, access to resources and referrals, financial management and budget planning, and the development of healthy relationships are additional services that are provided on site.
